Grand prix stallion bows out

  • The grand prix dressage stallion Jonggor’s Weyden has been retired from competition and will now stand at stud in Holland. He is licensed with the Hanoverian, KWPN, Hessen and Oldenburg studbooks.

The 17-year-old Hanoverian son of Western Star won individual bronze and team silver at the Atlanta Olympics for Sven Rothenberger, with whom he also finished second in the 1997 World Cup final.

The ride was later taken over by Sven’s wife, Gonnelien, who won the Dutch national championship in 2000 and finished 14th individually at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez last year.
