Horse & Hound is looking for unsung equine heroes to honour in the magazine this Christmas.

They don’t need to be as famous as Milton or Red Rum — they just have to be inspiring examples of the greatness of the horse.

• Do you know a riding school horse who has tactfully taught hundreds of clients over several years?
• Do you have a schoolmaster pony who has guided a string of pony clubbers to competence?
• Perhaps you know a horse who has helped his owner fight back from illness?
