“Coronation Street” welcomes new dog


  • A Shih Tzu called Mr Woo is the latest member to join the cast of “Coronation Street”

    ITV’s popular soap Coronation Street is introducing a new canine character played by aShih Tzu called Mr Woo.

    Mr Woo will become the companion of Rita Sullivan, played by actress Barbara Knox.

    Barbara is one of the longest serving actors on Coronation Street, having first appeared on our screens in 1964.

    This is the second dog to star in the popular ITV soap, the first was a racing greyhound belonging to the character Tyrone.

    A spokesperson for Coronation Street said: “‘There’s a definite story line for the dog, as well as a twist inthe tale.”

    Mr Woo will be on our screens from this week.
