The sport horse stallion Abraham has been put down.
The Oldenburger’s owner, Orwel Davies of Foxcourt Stud in Carmarthenshire, reported that on the morning of 28 June, Abraham seemed to be suffering from colic.
The stallion’s condition deteriorated throughout the day, so Mr Davies took him to the Three Counties Equine Hospital in Malvern, where a tumour was discovered on his intestine.
Abraham, who Mr Davies imported from Germany 16 years ago, won the Sport Horse Breeding (GB) Henry Tudor fertility cup twice in the past three years.
