Ardall Pro-Fit Studs: never tap another stud hole again [Promotion]

  • If you’re one of the countless riders who dreads the task of studding up your horse, who’s endured the nightmare of broken taps and dodgy threads and who’s wrestled with an uncooperative horse who refuses to stand still for longer than 2 minutes at shows, Ardall’s new Pro-Fit studs will be a dream come true.

    Pro-Fit Studs

    Ardall’s threadless Pro-Fit Studs

Launched last autumn, the patented Pro-Fit studs have been hailed as “revolutionary” and a “breakthrough” in stud design. What’s different about Pro-Fit studs is that they have no thread and so they are incredibly easy to fit and remove. This pioneering, threadless design allows 8 Pro-Fit Studs to be fitted to one horse in less than 2 minutes, show after show.

With Badminton Horse Trials week upon us, Ardall is offering 10% OFF Pro-Fit Stud Kits and Pro-Fit Studs and a whopping 50% OFF Pro-Fit Reamer Bits! And you’ll also receive a FREE 7.5mm steel conventional bit for your farrier with every Reamer Bit purchased!

With Pro-Fit you can fit 8 studs to one horse in less than 2 minutes. No threads, no tapping, no hassle. You can buy now at http://www.ardall.com/buy-now/ and save. Or go and visit Ardall at Badminton in The World of the Horse for a demonstration and save then.  But don’t delay — this offer only runs until 12 May.

    What riders are saying

Feedback from riders who are already using Pro-Fit studs is nothing short of glowing:

“I have used the Pro Fit Stud system on several of our horses, and have been truly surprised. It is well-engineered and stunning in its simplicity, I can’t recommend them highly enough. In the past, crossed threads and over tapping have resulted in studding issues that can lead to horses losing confidence.  We are looking forward to using Pro Fit on all our horses this season.” Jonty Evans, international event rider

“These studs are brilliant, saving effort and time, while still staying in very securely. They are incredibly easy to fit and remove and I would highly recommend them.” Aoife Clarke, International event rider

“Having seen the demonstration of the new Pro-Fit Studs from Ardall, I’m so looking forward to using them this season. They will make life much easier and save a lot of time.” Laura Collett, international event rider

“Seriously impressed by how easy the Ardall Pro Fit Studs are to put in and remove!” Alexis Ross, amateur event rider

“I cannot believe the ease of the Pro-Fit studs. When taking several horses to an event, studding up was always a nightmare! Now I use the Pro Fit studs it has become a job that literally takes seconds! Even my farrier is a convert. All my horses now wear Pro Fit studs and with such a large selection to choose from it means my horses are getting the very best. I definitely wouldn’t think twice about converting, genuinely an incredible product!” Andrew Heffernan, international event rider

    How they work

As Pro-Fit studs have no thread that needs to be cleaned, maintained and that can get damaged, they are incredibly easy to fit and remove, each and every time they are used. The stem of the Pro-Fit stud has a smooth, tapered finish which matches the Pro-Fit stud hole exactly and it is this smooth, tapered finish which ensures absolute security.

Have you ever tried to slide one pane of glass off another? It can’t be done — they will not slide because the smoothness of the glass in effect forms a secure join and one pane of glass must be lifted off the other to separate them. The same principle applies to Pro-Fit studs. The smooth tapered steel of the stud’s stem simply cannot slide against the smooth tapered finish of the stud hole in the steel horse shoe, so Pro-Fit studs stay in place until they are removed by a simple twist of the spanner — the equivalent of lifting one pane of glass off the other.

    How are they fitted?

It’s extremely easy for your farrier to prepare your horse’s shoes to take Pro-Fit studs. The simple stages are:

    1) Prepare the shoe to fit the horse — your farrier will prepare and shape the shoe to fit your horse as normal, using a cold or hot fitting process

    2) Your farrier then drills stud holes in the shoe as normal using a standard 7 or 7.5mm steel conventional bit

    3) The farrier then re-drills the stud hole on a pillar drill using the special Pro-Fit reamer bit, which allows the hole to be drilled with complete accuracy for a smooth, tapered finish to match the stud

    4) All it then takes is a couple of gentle taps with the Pro-Fit hammer for the stud to be securely fitted into the stud hole. The stud is then removed by a simple twist with a spanner, yet despite being so easy to fit and remove, Pro-Fit studs stay securely in place whatever the going, thanks to their smooth, tapered design

    4.Reamer-Bit

    The Pro-Fit Reamer Bit

Between shows, the stud hole is plugged as you would any stud hole — with a rubber stud plug, cotton wool, or with one of the specially designed Pro-Fit sleeper studs. When you need to fit studs, simply remove the plug, give the stud hole a quick brush with the wire brush included in the Pro-Fit stud kit, place the stem of the Pro-Fit stud into the stud hole and give it a couple of quick taps with the Pro-Fit hammer. The stud is then securely in place to give your horse excellent grip, whatever the going.

    12.Hammering-In

All it takes is a couple of gentle taps with the Pro-Fit hammer for the studs to be securely fitted in place

To remove, simply twist the Pro-Fit stud either clockwise or anticlockwise using the Pro-Fit spanner to loosen and remove. Quick, easy and hassle free!

Pro-Fit studs are simply removed with the Pro-Fit spanner included in the Pro-Fit stud kit

Pro-Fit studs will work on cold shoes, hot shoes (drilling can only take place when the shoes are cold and shaped exactly to size) and concave shoes.

    What they’re made from?

Pro-Fit studs are made from extremely strong, high tensile stainless steel, an extremely tough material commonly used in marine work and which has also been used on the exterior of both the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia and the Jin Mao Building in Shanghai, two of the world’s tallest skyscrapers! Pro-Fit studs won’t rust and remain easy to fit and remove use after use.

What if the shoe wears down?

Between shoeing, your horse will inevitably wear the shoes slightly and a “burr” or metal lip can form at the edge of the stud hole. Ardall have included a “de-burring” tool in the Pro-Fit stud kit, which allows you to quickly and easily remove any burr that may have formed before fitting the studs.

    Where to buy them

Ardall Pro-Fit studs are available to purchase online from www.Ardall.com and will soon be available through leading tack shops throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

What does the stud kit contain and how much is it?

The Pro-Fit stud kit contains 8 large Pro-Fit studs, 8 medium Pro-Fit studs + tools and costs just £115. The Pro-Fit Reamer bit to drill Pro-Fit stud holes costs just £76.

A range of Pro-Fit studs are available, from large wet going studs, down to sleeper studs. Individual studs retail at £3.25
