Jamie Haase

Jamie Haase graduated from East Tennessee State University and later earned an MBA from the University of Arizona. Earlier in his career he worked as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he investigated criminal cases along the Mexico border and served on multiple federal task forces before transitioning to the private sector.

He grew up in Stafford County, Virginia, and now lives in nearby Caroline County just a few miles from the birthplace of Secretariat near Doswell. As a native Virginian living so close to one of the most important sites in American racing history, he developed a strong interest in the enduring legacy of the great Thoroughbred champion.

Jamie now regularly writes articles and commentary on history, culture and public policy. His work has appeared in national publications including HuffPost and regional outlets including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Virginian-Pilot, the Carolina Journal and others.
