Katie Price has added a children’s range to her clothing brand, KP Equestrian. The brand was relaunched in late 2021 with a ladies’ range, but the media personality plans to expand further by venturing into horsewear and men’s clothing in the near future.

Katie was “overwhelmed” by the positive response to the launch of the ladies’ range, and this encouraged her to return to the drawing board to design and produce a children’s range.

Available just in time for spring, the new range includes smaller versions of some of the ladies’ items, such as the hoodies, jackets and polos, along with three new slogan tees. Designed with bold and bright colours, the unisex range aims to be suitable for all young equestrians with sizes ranging from 2-3 years to 14-15 years.

The new slogan tees include “pony power” for those who love to jump, “dance dance” for dressage divas and “ride” for every pony-mad child who wants to “dazzle in the saddle”.

Katie hopes the range will stocked by a number of equestrian retailers in time. She also plans to have a trade stand at some of the larger equestrian events, including London International, later this year and attend in person.

Equestrian and media personality Katie Price has relaunched her equestrian fashion business KP Equestrian, with a range designed to “dazzle in the saddle”.

First launched in 2008, the brand was closed down in 2017 as Katie needed to focus on other aspects of her life.

This time joining forces with her next-door neighbour and riding partner, Katie has relaunched KP Equestrian with a new website and ladies’ range that includes riding leggings, tops and jackets, as well as a selection of slogan T-shirts. The range is designed to “dazzle” and features bright pinks and blues.

Katie also has a childrenswear range in the pipeline and will be expanding the ladies’ range into other colours. Following that, she plans to introduce horsewear and menswear lines.

As a rider and shopper herself, Katie is “thrilled about being hands-on with the design of the KP Equestrian clothes and sharing her ideas with like-minded horsey people”. She hopes eventually to have the range stocked by a number of equestrian retailers, and has plans to attend big events with a trade stand.

Katie is currently preparing the land and clearing out the stables at her home in Horsham, West Sussex, so she can bring her horses home. Channel 4 is covering the refurbishment process, in a series that begins on Wednesday, 26 January at 9pm.

Katie Price has thanked emergency services and the local community for their help after one of her horses died after being hit by a car.

The model, who is a keen equestrian, revealed the sad news in a social media post on Tuesday (21 November).

Five horses, including one owned by Katie, escaped from their Sussex field after dark and ran onto a busy A road on 20 November.

Katie’s horse collided with a car and was put down at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

Katie said she is “devastated”.

“Thank god the driver of this car was very lucky and escaped and [I] wish him well,” she said.

“Police were amazing and so was the local community and [I] thank them all.

“Our friends’ other four horses thank god are alive with a couple of them injured and are still being treated by the vet and will be ok. We are in shock still.”

Fans of the glamour model shared their condolences on social media.

One Facebook user replied to Katie’s thread and said she was at the scene.

“I did what I could for your horse the other night,” she said.

“I looked after and cared for it in its final moments as best I could and I said a little prayer for it before the vet attended to it.”

She added there was a “very kind” PCSO there who also helped her to calm the horse as best they could.

“I did my best Katie,” she wrote.

“Am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find some comfort in knowing the above.

“Wishing you comfort at this sad time.”

Katie Price’s new equestrian reality television series airs tonight (18 August).

The show, Katie Price’s Pony Club, is set at the former model’s family home in West Sussex where she keeps her five horses.

The series follows Katie as she creates a Pony Club team like no other with her friends and their children, including her eight-year-old daughter Princess and 10-year-old son Junior.

Each episode will see the children tackle a different form of riding, including showjumping, reining and dressage.

Katie Price’s Pony Club goes out on TLC at 9pm.

“This is a brilliant horsey romp that will reveal a fascinating, and previously unseen, side of Katie,” said Clare Laycock, head of TLC and Investigation Discovery.

“Through her kids, friends and love of horses, the series brings a great reality peek into the extraordinary life of one of the country’s most popular and well-known personalities.

“This is a passionate project for Katie and we’re incredibly excited to add the original show to our summer line up.”

Katie goes hunting

Earlier this year, Katie went out with the Cheshire Bloodhounds.

The day’s hunting, which will feature in the series, raised over £4,000 for charity.

“Katie Price and her children Junior and Princess were all at the meet and Ms Price stayed out until hounds went home,” said joint-master Julie Finney.

“Riding her own horse she kept up and jumped all the fences on the route that the field master took but she was tired at the end.”

Ms Price was however given some advice prior to the meet.

“Katie was great fun and thoroughly enjoyed her day however she did arrive wearing rather a lot of bling so we had to advise her on hunting etiquette which she totally took on board,” added Julie.

“We found her a hunting tie and pin and gave her a hunt coat to wear.”

A riding school has defended itself following criticism from Katie Price.

The celebrity sold a horse, Jordan’s Glamour Girl (Blaze), to Contessa Riding Centre, Hertfordshire.

Katie was furious when the centre shared pictures of the horse, who is now known as GiGi, being schooled, on its Facebook page.

The post displayed several photographs of the horse, who Katie rode at Horse of the Year Show in 2008, doing one-time changes and trot extensions.

“I’m really sad and upset and angry that I sold my horse Blaze to this person for £1,000 wanting her to have a quieter life as she is in her 20s and has two major leg injuries and has done dressage all her life,” said Katie.

“[She] has now had a name change and is being used as a riding school horse. This lady clearly thinks of money rather than the horse’s wellbeing. If I knew this I would have kept her.”

A spokesman for Contessa Riding Centre said it was “saddened” to see Katie’s posts.

“GiGi is a much-loved member of our team at Contessa Riding Centre and, along with all of our horses and ponies, cared for to the highest standard,” the spokesman said.

“She is currently exercised three times a week, is sound and goes about her work with huge enthusiasm. Riders are assessed before they are allocated GiGi to ride and we are very careful to ensure her soundness and level of schooling is protected.”

The spokesman said that “many of the points Katie has made are factually incorrect”.

“GiGi was bought in 2012 for a sum greater than £1,000,” he said. “We do not feel it necessary to disclose the exact amount, but we do have paperwork that we can present to Katie should she wish to see confirmation of this.

“We arrived to collect GiGi in a lorry branded with our riding centre’s logo and at no point were dishonest in our intentions towards GiGi.

“As a centre, we pride ourselves on our happy horses and fulfilled clients. As a council-approved and British Horse Society A5 centre, we are inspected yearly and all horses must be seen by the vet. GiGi has presented as sound, fit and well on every inspection.”

The spokesman added that Katie and her vet were welcome to visit GiGi and to discuss her welfare with Tina Layton BHSI, the founder of the riding school, and their vet.

“We would be pleased to offer her the opportunity to take part in one of our advanced sessions so that she can experience GiGi’s work firsthand,” he said.

“We are sure that she will leave us comforted that GiGi is fit, well and much loved.”

A pack of hounds has raised over £4,000 for charity while filming with reality TV star Katie Price.

The Cheshire Bloodhounds organised a days’ hunting to be shown as part of a new series called Katie Price’s Pony Club that will be aired over the summer.

The donations and day caps taken on the day were all put towards the fundraising effort and a cheque was recently presented to representatives from Cancer Research UK.

“We were approached by a production company to see if our pack would be interested in filming for this series,” explained joint-master Julie Finney, who with her husband Charles owns the pack’s 4½ couple of bloodhounds.

“We were delighted to be given this opportunity so made the decision to run the day as a charity fundraiser. There was a mounted field of approximately 50 riders at the meet which was held at Parkin Manor Estate by kind permission of Stuart and Shelly Parkin.”

“Katie Price and her children Junior and Princess were all at the meet and Ms Price stayed out until hounds went home.

Equine colour company Equidivine has “blinged” top showjumpers — but has never before transformed a palomino into a pink unicorn.

The 15hh horse was coloured on 27 April at a photo shoot for Katie Price’s new reality series going out on American cable satellite network TLC this summer.

The series, titled Katie Price’s Pony Club, is set at the former model’s family house in West Sussex where she keeps her five horses.

“Normally I work with greys, this was first time we’ve turned a palomino completely pink,” said Michelle Inch, who runs Equidivine.

The 28-year-old mother of three from South Wales set up the company four years ago to get children to do more grooming.

“The aim of the company was to encourage children to groom their ponies as our glitter hoof balm actually heals hooves but has glitter for fun,” Mrs Inch said.

“It’s now all about the silliness that people assume but our paint is used for therapy as businesses who offer pony therapy allow the children to paint the horses instead of saying how they feel.

“It has massive results and children have been responding amazingly.”

The glitter hoof balm was the first product she developed.

There is now has a range of colours that wash off the horse or can be rolled off in the field in a week.

Equidivine has been at Olympia decorating all the horses for the finale for the last two years, and has been to Miami to put glitter tattoos and paint on the hoofs of the horses taking part in the Winter Equestrian Festival’s charity challenge.

The glitter and colour is permitted for showjumping and at Olympia last year showjumpers Ben Maher and Scott Brash were ‘coloured up’ for the pairs class.

The products start at £5 for a 50ml pot of glitter hoof balm or pony paint, rising to £70 for the “glamour pony kit”, which includes paint for a whole pony and glitter accessories.

“We’re now working on a new clothing and accessories line as an added twist of glitter,” Mrs Inch added.

Katie Price has told critics to “bind your beaks in” after receiving abuse for sharing pictures of hearts and diamonds harmlessly clipped into her daughter’s ponies’ coats.

The images riled animal rights charity PETA, who said the practice reduces “smart, sensitive animals to playthings”.

“An unskilled groomer could easily nick a horse with clippers, causing cuts or lesions,” a PETA spokesman told H&H.

“Clipping patterns into a horse’s hair is about human vanity and reduces smart, sensitive animals to playthings.

“If Ms Price wishes to shave hearts and diamonds into someone’s hair, we suggest she use her own head and leave animals out of it.”

The charity clarified that it does not object to clipping when it is done for the “benefit and comfort” of the animal and by a “skilled professional to avoid harm or injuries”.

A spokesman for Katie told H&H that she has had horses all her life and would never put any animal in danger.

He added that she has “full respect” for PETA and the work they do, but was naturally slightly disappointed by the organisation’s comments.

“Clipping is a very common practice, causing no harm or up set to the horse and is, in fact, carried out by many world class riders,” said the spokesman.

“Katie has over 50 different animals on her farm, all of who are cared for and loved by the whole family.”

The former glamour girl has shared a number of photos of arty clips on her Instagram and many social media users have come to her defence.

“See people will now see clipping a horse is very normal so bind your beaks in,” she wrote next to one of her posts.

Supporters have shared photos of their own equines’ stylish clips on Twitter and Instagram under the hashtag #clipforkatie.

To mark its fifth birthday, Katie Price’s label KP Equestrian (KPE) has expanded its range.

Two new competition jackets have been added — a diamante one and another with pink collar trims. Both jackets have pink double back vents and cost £59.99.

“I am so proud of what we have all achieved with KP Equestrian,” said Katie.

“My idea of a range of pink riding t-shirts and hoodies has grown into a really exciting business.”

KPE launched a selection of lightweight showjumps last month, in collaboration with showjump manufacturer Poly Jumps — all in the KPE signature pink. The sets start at £249 for a starter pack and go up to £999 for a full training set.

Fans of model and dressage rider Katie Price will be able to meet her when she unveils her new range of clothing at this year’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in Birmingham.

The new KP Equestrian autumn/winter collection will be launched at HOYS (4-9 October) and Katie will be on the stand on Friday 7 October signing autographs at 1.30pm.

New additions to the range- described as “fun, fashionable equestrian wear”- include patent leather riding boots in a range of colours with a diamante trim, fleece rugs, bridles, head collars and clothing.

“I have been coming to HOYS since I was a horse-mad teenager and it still is one of my favourite shows,” said Katie.

“It has something for everyone and the retail village is packed full of great shops. I am very much looking forward to meeting my fans this year.”

Horse-lover Katie Price has been involved in a car crash in Argentina caused by two wild horses colliding with the vehicle she was traveling in.

Ms Price and her Argentinian boyfriend, Leandro Penna, were on their way to visit Mr Penna’s parents in Buenos Aires last weekend, when two stallions jumped a fence and galloped into their path on a remote country road.

Both of the animals were killed, with one breaking through the windscreen of the 4×4 that Mr Penna was driving.

The 32-year-old glamour model and dressage rider has said she is lucky to be alive following the crash.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she said: “It was absolutely terrifying. It all happened in a flash. I have absolutely no idea how I wasn’t badly injured.

“I feel so lucky, but more than anything, I’m just distraught about the horses. It was so upsetting.”

A spokesman for the pair said they had suffered severe whiplash and minor cuts and were shaken up.

Glamour model turned dressage enthusiast Katie Price is reportedly suing the publishers of New! after the magazine claimed she had had an affair with rider and trainer Andrew Gould.

In August the magazine, published by Northern and Shell, ran a photo of Katie kissing Andrew in a nightclub in Southend.

She claims that readers will have understood it to mean she was cheating on her husband Alex Reid, who she says was at the nightclub at the time — as well as Andrew’s wife Polly.

She claims the magazine misrepresented the photo and kiss was neither “intimate nor passionate”.

New! allegedly refused to apologise or retract and so Katie is seeking damages for false and unfounded defamatory allegation and an injunction banning repetition of the allegations.

Katie Price’s human and horse clothing company, KP Equestrian, launches its biggest ever autumn and winter collection today.

Casual clothes and riding wear on sale, include breeches, jackets, winter hoodies and a t-shirt bearing the slogan: “Horses are like chocolates — one just isn’t enough”.

Horse gear includes headcollars, turnout rugs, travel boots and diamante leather snaffle bridles.

Katie Price has been involved in the design process, which this season features a lot of pink and black.

She aims to make both the human and horse wear comfortable, practical and on the cutting edge of fashion.

The range is designed in the UK and made in Europe.

32-year-old multi-millionaire Katie found fame as the glamour model and tabloid sweetheart Jordan.

She is currently training with two dressage horses at elementary level.

There will be a KP Equestrian stand at The London International Horse Show at Olympia (14-20 December).

Horsebox manufacturer Equi-Trek has teamed up with Katie Price’s KP Equestrian to produce a glamorous range of horse transport aimed at the female driver.

Katie says: “I’m so excited about the new horsebox and trailer range Equi-Trek have made for my KP Equestrian brand. They are both have my added touch of glamour and sparkle! I can’t wait to take my horses out in them.”

A box and two trailers are now available in the KP Equestrian range — the KP Trail Treka trailers and the KP Sonic, 3,500kg horsebox.

The Trail Treka ‘M’ has a gross weight of 2,000kg to enable it to be towed by smaller 4x4s and some cars, while the Trail Treka ‘L’ has a gross weight of 2,500kg for those wishing to carry larger horses.

The cab is equipped with high-quality leather seats with KP crests on each headrest and the separate tack/changing area features two pink bridle racks, a double saddle rack and a seat with pink cushions as standard.

Katie Price has been fined after being found guilty of not being in proper control of her horsebox.

The former glamour model turned dressage enthusiast appeared before Mid Sussex Magistrates Court in Haywards Heath yesterday (Monday 28 September).

She was found guilty of not being in proper control of a vehicle after she reportedly veered into another lane while driving her pink horsebox in February.

Katie was seen on a mobile phone by police on the A23 at Bolney, West Sussex when on the way to Euro Disney.

She was fined £1,000 with a £15 surcharge and costs of £650. She was also handed three points on her licence.

The court was shown footage by police of the horsebox veering across the carriageway on 19 February.

A police officer said he saw Katie Price making a texting motion on her phone, but she denied it saying she was spraying perfume.

She was accused of “careless” driving.

“I’m a typical woman driver,” said Katie. “I’m not used to a lorry that big.”

She is appealing the charge.

Katie Price has turned her attention to the racing industry — and supporting budding female jockeys.

Former model and horse lover Katie has teamed up with Racing Excellence.

Katie Price is supplying KP Equestrian clothing to the leading lady riders of the training series — in Flat, Jumps and All-Weather racing.

Racing Excellence is a collection of training race series that are supported by a jockey coach, with an aim of developing up and coming jockeys’ race riding skills and professionalism.

Katie said: “It’s great to see opportunities and training available to young people in equestrian sport. Racing Excellence is an exciting initiative for up and coming jockeys and I’m delighted to support the series.”

Do you know, it’s great being a girl. At least, today it is. It’s boiling hot at Epsom, the press room is steaming away like a pressure cooker, and I’m smugly cool as a cucumber in a sleeveless dress while my male colleagues are awash with sweat in dark suits and ties. Well, a slightly wilted cucumber, but it’s better than being a baked bean.

It’s Ladies’ Day at Epsom — the fillies have their moment of glory in the Oaks, while the two-legged types are parading like peacocks.

The now-ubiquitous Katie Price is here, although I’m not sure if what she’s wearing would be deemed “ladylike”, precisely. Mind you, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen her in a high-necked dress with sleeves, so maybe that’s a bit unfair.

One woman is wearing a giant white horse’s head as a hat, which I suppose is appropriate, but pretty odd. There’s a lot of flesh on show, turning pinker by the minute in the blazing sun.

Derby day tomorrow is due to be even hotter. The idea of cramming a hat on my head is grim, but at least I won’t have to wear full morning dress like the boys. There’ll be some big dry cleaning bills between now and Royal Ascot as they perspire gently into their woollen coats.

Last year we saw the emergence of a true superstar horse when Sea The Stars bolted home in the Derby, racing’s crowning glory. It would be too much to expect another so good so soon, but whoever wins tomorrow’s race will be a hero — at least for a day.

Dressage rider Andrew Gould is stuck in Egypt after all flights were cancelled due to the volcanic ash.

Andrew is on holiday with his wife Polly and their two children, as well as Katie Price, who he trains, and her family.

“We were meant to come home today (Tuesday 20 April),” Polly told H&H. “But we have no idea how or when we’ll be able to get back to the UK — people are saying it could be weeks.

“We are looking into options at the moment and we are discussing finding a private charter with everyone at the resort, but that would cost about £1,000 each. We’re losing money every day as our insurance doesn’t cover natural disasters.

“We left for Egypt just after the Nationals for a nice easy break. We’ve had a lovely holiday out here with the kids, the weather’s been gorgeous and it’s been very relaxing but now Andrew’s anxious to get back to his horses and competition.

“It’s really stressful. We have grooms looking after the horses, they are all fine and it’s good for them to have a break but Andrew has shows coming up, his teaching commitments and the London Marathon on Sunday (25 April) and we just don’t know if he’ll be back.

“At this rate Andrew might have to start training camels!”

Katie Price has sworn to wear an air jacket each time she hacks out after a friend’s riding accident on Tuesday.

Ms Price and her friend Melodie Pope were riding near the model’s home in Woldingham, Surrey when her friend was thrown from her horse.

Ms Pope had to be airlifted to hospital.

Speaking to H&H, Ms Price said: “After a horrific riding accident my friend had this week when we were out together I will definitely be wearing a Point Two air jacket to hack out in the future.

“Melodie has fractured the lumbar part of her back and had she been wearing a Point Two then she may not have sustained such a bad injury.

“The horse she was riding was not a fit competition horse and it just shows you that riding any type of horse can result in a bad fall.”

Katie Price came to the aid of a friend while riding yesterday (6 April) after hairdresser Melodie Pope fell from her horse, according to reports.

The pair were riding close to Ms Price’s home in Woldingham, Surrey at about 1.15pm, when Ms Pope fell off, hurting her back The Mirror claims.

Ms Price reportedly put her friend into the recovery position and called for an ambulance.

The girl was airlifted to East Surrey Hospital and is said to be stable.

A source told the newspaper: “Katie was shocked when she turned around to see her mate on the ground in a heap. It was a very nasty fall.

“Katie has ridden horses all her life and has seen her fair share of riding accidents. Nothing fazes her.”

Ms Price is reported to have cancelled modelling shoots and filming of her ITV2 documentary What Katie Did Next to stay with her friend.

Former glamour model turned equestrian entrepreneur and dressage rider Katie Price has decided to sell one of her horses based with top rider and trainer Andrew Gould, Jordan’s Andre.

The tabloids reported this decision was influenced by her split from the man of the same name, Peter Andre, but dressage trainer Andrew Gould told Horse&Hound: “Andre’s still young [rising six] and Katie is keen to get out and compete so she’s decided to sell him and buy something much more experienced.

“This horse was always going to be a long-term project so it’s better she get something that’s done a bit more that she can ride now.”

Andrew rode the Dutch-bred gelding by Jazz to victory in a novice qualifier at Hickstead last April and qualified for the young horse finals at Hickstead in July.

Fans of Katie Price will be able to meet the glamour girl-turned-dressage rider at Olympia, the London International Horse Show, later this month.

Fresh from the jungle after her appearance in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, Katie will be heading to London to promote her new range from KP Equestrian.

“Olympia Horse Show is one of my favourite events of the year,” said Katie.

“No Christmas is complete without it. I’m really excited about being there this year as for the time KP Equestrian will have its own branded stand.”

Katie will be doing product signings on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December.

Those who buy something from the range will get to meet Katie and have their purchase signed.

The signings will take place from 5.30pm so neither afternoon nor evening ticket holders will miss out on the chance to meet Katie.

Horse lovers have expressed their outrage after four horses were forced to swim across a river with celebrities on their backs in the new series of I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here.

Strictly Come Dancing star Camilla Dallerup, interior designer Justin Ryan, Stuart Manning from Hollyoaks and snooker player Jimmy White had to ride through a flowing river in the first episode of the series that aired on Sunday night (15 November).

One angry reader wrote to H&H: “It [the use of horses] was absolutely disgusting. They had four ‘celebrities’ ride horses across a river. The horses had to swim and the terror was evident in their eyes as they struggled with the current and with the fools hanging out of their mouths. It made for very uncomfortable viewing and I feel really angry about this.”

And H&H forum users hit back at the show with many saying they were “shocked”.

“The horses did not look happy in the slightest, and it was so dangerous for horse and rider — I didn’t like it at all,” one forum user wrote.

Another added: “I was just sat here in shock, I thought it was really, really stupid and dangerous to be honest.”

“I am absolutely gobsmacked that they think it’s a sensible idea to put total novices on horse back and then get them to cross a strong flowing river,” said another.

The riders crossed the river but didn’t realise it would be so deep their mounts would have to swim.

At one point Jimmy White fell from his horse and got his foot stuck in the stirrup. Camilla also fell from her horse into the river.

A spokesman for the RSPCA added: “We share the strong concerns many viewers have about the continued use of animals in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

“The use of animals in this way is completely unacceptable and could easily injure or cause great distress to the animals involved. There is no excuse for using animals in stunts that carry a high risk of them being harmed and we believe the series gives out a very irresponsible message to viewers about how to treat animals.

“In the past, the RSPCA has received dozens of complaints from members of the public about the programme, and in previous years we have written to the programme makers to express our deep concerns. We continue to hope that they will take our concerns on board and avoid using animals in this way.”

Tony Tyler, deputy chief executive of World Horse Welfare added: “Horses are very competent swimmers but if they are to swim with a rider, that rider should also be competent. In this situation some of the riders did not appear competent.

“If a rider becomes frightened, that can distress the horse and may cause it to panic. In a panic a horse can easily injure itself or its rider and we would expect any TV company or organisation that uses horses in their work to do their utmost to avoid causing undue stress to a horse.”

An ITV spokesman said: “The horses are specifically trained to trek through water and swim on a daily basis. The celebrities were given a full and thorough briefing before they took part in the trek, and were accompanied at all times by expert handlers.”

Katie Price’s clothing range KP Equestrian will be sold globally from spring 2010, as the brand’s agreement with Derby House comes to an end.

An exclusive preview was held in London last night for the KP Equestrian spring 2010 collection — which feature’s Katie’s trademark favourite pinks, velour and diamante.

Since the brand’s launch in autumn 2008, KP Equestrian has been available exclusively through Derby House. The three collections produced over the past year have proved so popular that KP Equestrian has grown to become a multi-million pound business.

“Our partnership with Derby House has been fantastic, and we have enjoyed an excellent working relationship,” said Diana Colbert of KP Equestrian. “But the demand from other retailers and from the equestrian community as a whole has got to a level where we now feel it is time to widen our distribution.”

The clothing line will be sold next year in Spain, Ireland, Australia and Scandinavia.

Ms Colbert added: “We will continue to work closely with Derby House and support their sales efforts with personal appearances by Katie.”

Katie Price has refused to respond to taunts over her riding ability by glamour girl Jodie Marsh.

Jodie recently said in an interview to Zoo magazine: “What does Jordan do on a horse? Dressage — trots around — that’s all she does. She doesn’t jump…She just sits on it and poses.”

Glamour model Jodie Marsh— who has famously hit out many times at Katie Price, aka Jordan — said her own riding abilities were far superior, claiming she got on a horse recently and jumped, cantered and galloped.

But at an exclusive preview of Katie’s spring 2010 equestrian clothing range — KP Equestrian — Katie told H&H: “I’m not going to comment on Jodie’s riding ability. Anyone can learn to ride if they do it properly. Of course I can jump — I just happen to love dressage.”

Katie said she “absolutely loves” her new six-year-old dressage horse Wallace, who she bought last month from Laurens van Lieren in The Netherlands.

Wallace, by Rubiquil out of a mare by Sultan is one of several horses Katie has stabled with Andrew Gould, near her home in Surrey.

“I go to ride first thing every morning, I love it,” she told H&H. “But I’m banned from buying any more horses now — my brother [who handles Katie’s finances] won’t allow it!”

Katie’s latest collection for KP Equestrian — which since its launch has been sold exclusively through Derby House — will from next spring be available in a range of retailers across the UK, and beyond.

The now multi-million pound clothing line will be sold in Spain, Ireland, Australia and Scandinavia.

Jodie Marsh has lashed out at Katie Price in Zoo magazine, somewhat hypocritically, criticising Katie’s riding.

Jodie, well known for her heated feuds with rival glamour girls, emphasised dressage in her tirade, exclaiming: “What does Jordan do on a horse? Dressage — trots around — that’s all she does. She doesn’t jump…She just sits on it and poses.”

The glamour model continued by advocating her own riding abilities: “I started horse riding again recently and I haven’t ridden since I was 14.

“So I’ve got on after 17 years, and it’s a beast. I cantered him, galloped him and got over proper jumps.”

Jodie Marsh’s outburst continued, descending to general insults, in which she described Katie as being: “cold as ice, thick…and bad in bed!”

Top dressage rider Andrew Gould appeared at his pupil Katie Price’s latest photo call and book signing in London’s Selfridges yesterday — dressed in drag.

Andrew Gould was kitted out in a fuchsia pink velour hot pants and midriff-baring t-shirt combo from Katie Price’s equestrian clothing range, finished off with knee-high socks and pink heels. His make-up and a dark wig with plaited bunches in pink ribbons completed the look.

Andrew was the only rider recruited for this role, along with Katie’s boyfriend Alex Reid, her brother and another friend, who all donned outfits that the model has famously worn throughout her career.

Andrew became tabloid fodder when romantically linked to Katie Price earlier this year. He denied the aspersions and mocked the rumours with a tongue-in-cheek photo shoot for OK magazine in September — a shoot that also featured Andrew’s wife Polly.

The relationship between former glamour model Katie Price and dressage rider Andrew Gould has come under the spotlight once again, after Katie admitted that her marriage to pop singer Peter Andre did end because of him.

In an interview with OK magazine, Katie said that pop singer Andre gave her an ultimatum to move her horses from the trainer’s yard, or their marriage was over.

“I looked into [moving] somewhere else but I thought, hang on, why should I have to move my horses?” Katie told OK.

“It basically got to the point where it was my marriage or my horses.”

When questioned about Peter Andre’s jealousy over their relationship, Andrew told OK he thought it stemmed from Andre never being involved with Katie’s passion for dressage.

“I don’t think he was that interested in Katie’s riding, and then because he was never involved, his imagination ran wild,” said Andrew.

Andrew’s wife, Polly, also took part in the interview and was even photographed with the pair in a raunchy photo shoot — inspired by Jilly Cooper’s saucy novel Riders.

But despite the Goulds apparent willingness to laugh off the affair accusations that were circulating earlier in the year, both acknowledged that it was difficult receiving so much media attention.

“It put a lot of strain on our relationship at that time,” admitted Andrew.

The dressage-mad former glamour girl — previously known as Jordan — will be at HOYS on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October.

Katie has recently splashed out on a new dressage horse from Holland, which is stabled at her trainer Andrew Gould’s yard.

In this week’s edition of Ok! magazine, Kate — aka Jordan — has revealed she chose horses over Peter Andre, when her former husband gave her an ultimatum.

Katie Price said Peter asked her to choose, following bouts of jealousy over her relationship with Andrew Gould, the Sussex-based international dressage rider and trainer.

Visitors to Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) can indulge in a spot of celebrity watching along with seeing their favourite riders and horses in action.

As well as glamour girl and dressage enthusiast Katie Price (pictured right), famous faces attending the show at the Birmingham NEC (7-11 October) include actor Martin Clunes, Coronation Street actress and Pop Stars winner Kim Marsh, former England footballer Stuart Pearce, TV presenter Anthea Turner, rugby star Phil Vickery, Gladiator Siren aka Amy Guy and boy bands Blake and Dakota.

Many of the stars have horsey credentials. Martin Clunes is a recent convert to riding, having taken lessons as a child, and enjoys riding his 17.2hh Shire X Hanoverian “Chester” with his wife and daughter — both keen equestriennes.

And Phil Vickery co-owns Robert Smith’s ride Raging Bull Vangelis.

Many of the celebs will be attending the Gala evening on Sunday 11 October, which is hosted by actress Susan George and her husband and fellow actor Simon MacCorkindale.

Gala evening visitors will be treated to top international show jumping with the HOYS leading show jumper of the year competition and the culmination of the showing programme with the supreme pony of the year and horse of the year classes.

And rounding off the Gala evening and the show will be a finale paying homage to the show’s champions.

Former glamour model turned equestrian clothing entrepreneur Katie Price has purchased another new horse to add to her dressage and eventing stable.

Currently involved with divorce proceedings, Katie is said to be focussing on her equestrian interests again.

She has just returned from a spending spree in the Netherlands where she bought “Wallace”. The six-year-old black gelding is by Rubiquil, out of a mare by Sultan.

Katie found the horse at international rider Laurens van Lieren’s yard — Laurens was part of the gold medalling winning Dutch team in Turin 2007 on Hexagos Allright.

Wallace will travel to Katie’s trainer Andrew Gould’s yard in Sussex next week, where, according to her PR Diana Colbert: “Katie is going to get down to some serious training with her dressage coach and get Wallace out on the competition circuit as soon as possible.”

Katie Price has her eyes on a new dressage horse — from the Netherlands.

The horse-mad former glamour girl travelled to a Dutch yard last week to try the horse with her trainer, the international dressage rider Andrew Gould.

Andrew told H&H: “The horse hasn’t been vetted yet, so she hasn’t bought it just yet — but we’ll let you know when it is confirmed.”

Andrew laughed when told that bloggers have said the horse cost £150,000 and is to be called Cross Dresser.

In January, Katie bought a full brother of Carl Hester’s former dressage horse, Escapado. The eight-year-old gelding, called Jordan’s Pretty Boy, is based with Andrew Gould in West Sussex.

Katie has long been a keen dressage rider, and made her competition debut at Hickstead last June.

Former glamour model-turned dressage rider Katie Price has shown her support for equine charity HorseWorld by donating prizes to a sponsored ride

Katie has given items from her riding-wear range for the 15-mile event in Wiltshire on Saturday 25 July.

Pip Eyles, fundraising assistant at HorseWorld said: “It is wonderful to have the support of such a well-known celebrity as Katie Price.

“We are very grateful for the generous donations from all those who have supported this worthwhile cause.”

Katie has donated items from her KP Equestrian range including t-shirts and socks.

The “Great Rescue Ride” is being run by Endurance GB in aid of Bristol-based charity HorseWorld.

The charity rescues equines and rehabiliates them before finding long-term homes for them.

It currently has 140 at their centre and a further 350 in loan homes.

The pleasure ride will be part of Endurance GB’s “Tally Ho” weekend.

Ms Eyles added: “By taking part riders will get a great idea of how challenging and enjoyable endurance riding can be, and also will be helping to change the lives of hundreds of equines in need.”

Each entrant will receive a goody bag and there have been other prize donations of de-tangler from ‘NAF’ and a bridle from Performance Equine.

Andrew Gould faces a tabloid frenzy when he returns to riding and teaching tomorrow morning following a family holiday in Spain.

The British media linked the international dressage rider to pupil Katie Price after it emerged he was among the group of friends partying in Bristol post-Badminton on Friday night. Andrew’s wife, Polly, was also out that night.

Andrew has strongly denied any rumours of an affair, stating: “There has never been or ever will be any romantic involvement.”

Andrew told Horse&Hound: “I’m looking forward to getting back to work and getting on with life as normal.”

This may not be so easy, with paparazzi camped outside his yard and the chance of reporter intrusion, but Andrew told H&H: “The horses are all fine, nobody can get into our yard. I’ve got lessons booked in tomorrow morning and will carry on teaching and riding as planned.”

Andrew also still intends to contest an open novice event at Mattingley, Hampshire, on 22 May riding Loughnatousa Iceman. He recently took up eventing — a sideline to his dressage career — finishing second at Hambledon on 24 April.

“I’m definitely still going to Mattingley, I’m all geared up for that and there’s no way I’m not going to get out and compete,” Andrew told H&H.

Katie Price will not be launching her latest equestrian clothing range at Derby House at the end of May, following the collapse of her marriage.

Dressage fan Katie was due to appear in a fashion show at Derby House’s flagship store in Wrightington, Lancashire, on Sunday 24 May.

The show was to launch her latest range from Katie Price Equestrian (KPE) — and is advertised in tomorrow’s Horse & Hound.

But a spokesman for Derby House said this afternoon: “Due to recent events Derby House have decided to postpone the KPE Fashion Show that was scheduled for the Sunday 24 May until further notice.

“As with all our KPE signings, Katie was fully committed to attending but the team at Derby House felt it was unfair to ask her to attend such an event at this time.

“We will be confirming the new date very shortly and look forward to seeing all KPE fans at our flagship store in Wrightington, Lancashire at some point later this summer.”

This year’s show was planned after the phenomenal success of the first fashion show last September — when over 2,000 Katie Price fans turned up to meet the star.

Katie still plans to promote KPE at the Clothes Show London at the end of the month.

Top international dressage rider Spencer Wilton has been wrongly accused in the tabloids as the “mystery man” responsible for ending Katie Price’s marriage.

Former national dressage champion Spencer, 35, was photographed in a club in Bristol on Friday night with former glamour model Katie.

“We were just out having a perfectly innocent, fun night out,” Spencer told H&H. “A big group of us had all been at Badminton Horse Trials for the day and went out for dinner afterwards and then on to a club.”

Spencer, who lives in Gloucestershire, told us he informed the tabloids when pictures emerged yesterday that there had obviously been a huge misunderstanding.

“They know exactly who I am and have chosen to ignore that and the fact that I’m already in a happy relationship with a male partner,” said Spencer.

“My phone hasn’t stopped with papers and magazines calling, but it’s obviously a lot worse for Katie — I just really hope she and Peter are able to resolve their differences.”

Brighton-born glamour model turned dressage rider, celebrity polo player and children’s author, Katie Price, began riding when she was seven.

Between the ages of nine and 16 she had ponies and horses on loan, before eventually buying her own 17.3hh Irish thoroughbred, named Tyke.

Katie first became known on the equestrian scene after the release of her children’s book, Perfect Ponies: My Pony Care Book in June 2007, which was later shortlisted for the WH Smith Children’s Book of the Year.

She began learning dressage in March 2008, making her unaffiliated dressage debut on her own Jordan’s Glamour Girl at Hickstead in June 2008, where she was placed sixth in the prelim 17.

“She did a good job, everyone was quietly impressed,” said Dressage at Hickstead show director Dane Rawlins at the time.

Trained by international dressage rider Andrew Gould, Katie has since made an appearance at the 2008 Diamond Jubilee Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), where she took part in a dressage masterclass which caused some controversy.

However, when asked whether Katie was good for the profile of equestrian sport, Clare Balding went as far as to say that she is “the best thing to happen to the horseworld since hard hats”.

October 2008 saw the launch of her KP equestrian clothing range with Derby House, which has proved very successful. Although the initial range was available largely in pink, the new spring/summer 2009 clothing range even includes items in a demure navy blue.

In January of this year, Katie bought an eight-year-old full brother to Escapado, Carl Hester’s 2004 Olympic ride.

Katie currently lives in Surrey with her three children — Harvey, Junior and Princess Tiaamii.

At the launch of her spring/summer range of KP Equestrian clothing in London this week, Katie Price issued a warning to the equestrian clothing companies she deems too “traditional and earthy”.

“I’ve given the equestrian industry a wake-up call,” she said. “We started small but it’s just been flying off the shelves. It usually takes companies at least two years to get to the stage we’re at.”

From the same team of high street designers she worked with on her inaugural autumn/winter range, launched in 2008, this season sees much less “pinkification”. Items include T-shirts, jackets, vest tops and hoodies in lime green, cobalt blue and even the positively demure navy.

There are also hipster jodhpurs and a KP body protector made by the Rodney Powell team, available with or without added sparkle.

As a result of public demand, a new venture for KP Equestrian is the children’s range, KP Pony, all of which is available exclusively from Derby House.

Accessories — lipstick pink exercise bandages and saddlecloths for example — continue to be in integral part of the range and look set to be added to next season.

“I’m one of those people who wants everything to match — my underwear, my earrings, everything,” said Katie.

Despite the impact Katie’s injection of colour has had on horse owners’ shopping habits, she doesn’t want her product to become mass-market as, she says, some equestrian clothing companies have done.

“The stuff on the stands [at big events such as Olympia and Burghley] really stands out,” she said. “I want to keep it exclusive, though. The only competition we’ve really got is Joules but they’re everywhere.”

So what does the future hold for brand Katie Price? Well, men’s clothing will receive a KP makeover for autumn/winter and we’ll see an expansion into tack — expect some trademark pink and glitter there too.

All of which leaves traditional equestrian ranges firmly in the shade.

Katie Price will be tackling a Gladiator in a celebrity polo match at the British Open.

Gladiator Siren, aka Amy Guy , will be swapping her pugel stick for a polo mallet and going head-to-head with Katie in April.

British Open organisers announced at the end of January that Katie Price would be leading a team of three players — including two professionals — on in a two chukka match on Sunday 19 April.

But until today (24 February) it has been kept a secret who would be her rival.

Amy, who is one of the newest stars in the Sky Series of Gladiators, will be captaining the opposing team. The former member of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn Pony Club has competed for her native Wales in Pony Club mounted games and show jumping and says she is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m really excited about playing polo at the British Open,” said Amy. “It’s going to be great fun playing against Katie Price and among some top professionals.

“My Gladiator training keeps me very fit but I will be having a few polo lessons to get me prepared. It sounds like a brilliant show and I hope to see some of my fans there to cheer me on!”

A spokesman for the British Open said: “As one of the fastest and most dangerous sports in the world, Polo is a truly thrilling spectator’s sport and with two gutsy celebrities at the helm expect fun and fireworks!”

Katie Price, the glamour girl turned dressage rider and polo player, speaks exclusively to Horse & Hound about her life, children and horses

What was your first… word?

I don’t have a clue, but it certainly wasn’t horse! I know with all my children it was the usual “mama” or “dada”.

When did you first… ride?

When I was seven, on a 12.2hh grey pony called Echo. He kept bombing off with me every time we hit open grass, so I’ve had my fair share of falling off.

What was your first… job?

I left school at 16 and began training as a nurse, which I did for a few months before getting into modelling.

When did you first… own a horse?

I had a 14hh bay New Forest pony called Star on loan when I was nine or 10. He was 18 years old and we used to hack out and go to local shows.

I then had a 16.2hh ex-racehorse called Rosie on loan when I was 15, who was great fun, before my mum bought me my own — another ex-racehorse who was also a bay called Star!

The first horse I bought for myself was a 17.3hh Irish thoroughbred called Tyke — I like my big horses.

When did you first… choose dressage?

Last year. I still get a buzz from jumping, but I just love the look of dressage — the way the horses go and the elegance of it all. It’s a real discipline. Plus, I feel safer on the ground.

When did you first… appear in Horse & Hound?

When I wrote my ponycare book and then the kids’ pony storybooks.

When did you first… get recognised in the street?

I’m not sure, but to be honest sometimes I don’t think people even recognise me now. When I’m out and about I just do my thing — the whole fame thing doesn’t bother me. When I was young I always wanted to be famous, but now it’s a job. I think I’ve come a long way, although I’m not knocking what I did then.

When was the first time… one of your children rode?

Harvey rode when he was pretty young as I bought him a Shetland. Then Princess got on the horse I rode at the Horse of the Year Show, Glamour Girl, when she was just 14-months-old and Junior rides her too. I’m actually getting them a pony called Harvey on loan.

What were your first… resolutions for 2009?

To compete as much as I can and learn to ride the new horse I’ve bought from a sale in Holland, Jordan’s Pretty Boy. He knows all the moves and is a real challenge for me.

Who was your first… hero rider?

John Whitaker on Milton — I used to have posters of him all over my bedroom walls. Of Milton I mean, not John!

What is first… on your list of ambitions?

To conquer the world.

When did you last… get something for free?

Prestige want to give me saddles and bridles for all of my horses — even though they usually only do it for professional riders. So that’s very generous of them.

When did you last… laugh so much it hurt?

I’m not a big laugher — I have quite a dry sense of humour.

When did you last… do a good deed?

When I went into a shop to get my computer fixed and ended up buying loads of stuff for Pete’s [Peter Andre, Katie’s husband] studio. I’m terrible with computers — I had to buy a new Mac recently because I’d forgotten the password and lost all the software, so apparently there was nothing else I could do.

When did you last… fall off?

I don’t want to jinx myself, but I can’t remember. That’s not good is it? It must mean I’m due for one.

Glamour girl Katie Price and actor Martin Clunes have become the first members of the new British Eventing Gold Medal Club.

The new Gold Medal Club, launched last Thursday (29 January), aims to boost the popularity of the sport and reach out to a wider audience.

It will offer exclusive behind-the-scenes-tours to top event yards, training tips and course walks with international riders — starting with a visit to West Sussex to see Tina Cook.

The money raised from membership will be used to help the future of the sport as well as supporting current British Eventing teams.

A spokesman from British Eventing told H&H: “It’s an all encompassing club — aimed at the die-hard fans as well as the people who perhaps only go to a couple of events a year.

“The money will go towards the running of the sport, the organising of events and training. The more money raised the more it can benefit the sport — from the 80cm classes to advanced and Olympic level.”

Katie Price said: “I think it’s great that British Eventing are raising awareness for equestrianism in the run up to the Olympics.”

And Martin Clunes added: “My family all adore horses and I must admit they have also grown on me! When we are all together, riding and horses are central to our lives and we love watching the thrills of eventing, so I am delighted to support the Gold Medal Club.”

Katie Price is set to captain a team in a celebrity polo match at the British Open Show Jumping Championships.

The match will take place on Sunday 19 April and will be two chukkas long. There will be three players in each team — two professionals and one celebrity.

Katie, aka glamour model Jordan, will captain Team KP Equine against a team headed by a yet to be confirmed celebrity.

“I’m really excited about being part of the British Open’s celebrity arena polo match this April,” said Katie.

“I’ve played polo before and really enjoyed it so I’m definitely looking forward to going head-to-head with another celebrity and hopefully scoring a few goals!”

A spokesman for the British Open said: “As one of the fastest and most dangerous sports, polo is a truly thrilling spectator sport and with 2 gutsy celebrities at the helm expect fun and fireworks!”

Katie Price has bought a full brother of dressage horse Escapado.

Escapado was best of the Brits with Carl Hester at the Athens Olympics in 2004 before being sold to the Netherlands in 2005.

The eight-year-old gelding is to be called Jordan’s Pretty Boy.

He has been trained up to prix st georges in Holland and will be flown straight to Los Angeles where Ms Price (pictured above taking part in a dressage demonstration at the Horse of the Year Show on Jordan’s Glamour Girl) will be filming for the next three months.

The pair will then return and train with Andrew Gould in West Sussex.

Katie Price will be busy during Olympia week (16-22 December) as the former glamour model-turned businesswoman will be promoting her new equestrian clothing and horsewear range — KP Equestrian — for four days at the show.

Katie will be holding product signing on the Derby House stand on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5.30pm.

Katie said: “I think everyone will agree that I have definitely made a big stir with my riding wear…I obviously was not alone in wanting to feel glamorous around the yard.”

AS H&H products editor, I see equestrian fashion come and go. If someone approached me with a new range of clothing and said: “By the way, it only comes in pink”, I would have laughed and dismissed it as an instant failure. But add the name Katie Price into the equation and suddenly all the rules change.

Her clothing range, Katie Price Equestrian, was launched at the beginning of September and since then hoodies, velour joggers and gilets — in every shade of pink and featuring her distinctive logo — have been flying off the Derby House shelves, where the range is sold exclusively.
