                                <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.horseandhound.co.uk//hayley-turner" data-original-url="https://www.horseandhound.co.uk/hayley-turner"><strong>Hayley Turner</strong></a></span> has been <strong>released from hospital after suffering a crashing fall</strong> on Seal Of Approval at Doncaster yesterday (12 September).</p><p>Britain’s leading female jockey <strong>only returned to racing 12 days ago</strong> having broken her ankle in a fall at Yarmouth earlier this summer (26 July).</p><p>She fell with Seal of Approval when the <strong>horse clipped heels with another horse</strong>.</p><p>Hayley received <strong>immediately treatment on the course</strong> before being <strong>transferred to Doncaster Royal Infirmary</strong>.</p><p>She was <strong>kept in overnight</strong> but was released this morning after <strong>all her scans came back clear</strong>.</p><p>Hayley’s agent, <strong>Guy Jewell</strong>, said: “Hayley has been released from hospital. She’s now <strong>at home with her mum</strong> and is just battered and bruised.</p><p>“She is fine despite <strong>suffering significant soft tissue injuries</strong>.</p><p>“The CT scan and X-rays all came back clear so she just has to receive from the bruising. Hopefully, <strong>she’ll be back sooner than later</strong>.”</p><p>In 2012 Hayley became the <strong>first female jockey to win a Group One race outright</strong>, when she won the July Cup aboard Dream Ahead.                                 <p><u><a href="https://www.horseandhound.co.uk//competitionnews/index.php" data-original-url="/competitionnews/index.php?ctxt=racing">Racing</a></u> greats including <u><a href="https://www.horseandhound.co.uk//news/397/276836.html">John Francome</a></u> and Pat Eddery are getting back in the saddle for a charity race at Doncaster racecourse later this year.</p><p>The Leger Legends race will be held on 8 September, the opening day of the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival, to raise money for two charitable projects that benefit jockeys and stable staff.</p><p>John told H&H he is riding out already and is looking forward to the race.</p><p>“This is such a good cause,” he said. “But I last rode in a race at Kempton about three years ago [in aid of <u><a href="https://www.horseandhound.co.uk//news/397/174196.html">Richard Dunwoody’s Shackleton South Pole Expedition</a></u>] and I’m still blowing from that!”</p><p>Former champion National Hunt jockey Peter Scudamore, 10-times champion Irish jump jockey Charlie Swan and Kevin Darley, former champion Flat jockey and now chief executive of the Professional Jockeys Association, have also been confirmed to ride.</p><p>The race will be run over a mile.                                 <p><strong>Eight sets of racing colours</strong> are to be <strong>auctioned off next week in aid of the T4Toby Trust</strong>.</p><p>T4Toby was set up for <strong>10-year-old Toby Cunliffe who was diagnosed with a type four brain tumour</strong> earlier this year.</p><p>Toby, who loves sports and horse riding, has undergone aggressive chemo and radiotherapy but now <strong>needs specialist proton therapy, which is not available in the UK</strong>.</p><p><strong>A total of £180,000 needs to be raised to send Toby to Boston</strong> in America to undergo the therapy.</p><p>The charity has already raised more than £120,000 but more is still needed.</p><p>The <strong>silks will go under the hammer next Tuesday, 25 August</strong>, at the first day of <strong>Doncaster Bloodstock’s St Leger sales</strong>.</p><p>The British Horseracing Authority has given a year’s registration for each set, and the silks have been donated by the manufacturers.
