  • A therapy pony left television presenter Holly Willoughby in hysterics by pooing on This Morning.

Skewbald Monet has shot to fame following his appearance on ITV on Tuesday (4 July).

He appeared on the show alongside fellow ponies Digby and Glory to showcase K L Pony Therapy.

The organisation featured on horseandhound.co.uk this month (1 July) as Digby is being trained to become Britain’s first guide horse for the partially sighted.

K L Pony Therapy owner Katy Smith was talking to presenters Holly and Phillip Schofield about the benefits of therapy ponies when nature called.

“A guide dog is unlikely to poo on the kitchen floor, can [the ponies] be housetrained?” Phillip was asking, just as Monet started to poo, leaving Holly unable to control her laughter.

“That’s absolutely perfect timing,” he said.

Holly was doubled over in a fit of giggles.

“That was the best thing I’ve ever seen,” she said.

Katy added: “He’s just proving a point — that he wants to make himself known on TV.”

Katy set up K L Pony Therapy five years ago after she broke her back in a riding accident.

Unable to continue working as a activities co-ordinator in a care home, she bought her first American miniature horse, Mr P, from a breeder in Devon.

She now has eight of the tiny horses in training, taking them all over the country to nursing and dementia homes, schools and challenging behaviour units.
