For the first time a horsebox company has teamed up with a rescue service to offer free breakdown cover.
Horsebox company Equi-Trek have formed a new partnership with Equine Rescue Services (ERS) to offer new customers a year’s free breakdown cover.
All new Equi-Trek customers will receive 12 months breakdown and rescue cover when they buy any of Equi-Trek’s range of horseboxes and trailers.
This is the first time a partnership like this has been offered by a major equine vehicle company.
Equi-Trek believe the new scheme will benefit hundreds of new trailer and horsebox owners.
The breakdown cover includes free trailer recovery if needed, experts to remove horses safely and transport them to the owner’s destination of choice and full tyre support, not provided by manufacturer’s warranty.
“People and horses have to travel further to compete than ever before and it constantly amazes how many travel without breakdown assistance for the transport that is carrying their horses,” said a spokesman for ERS.
“Even something as simple as a tyre blow-out can turn into a major incident on a motorway miles from home. Equi-Trek customers now have the peace of mind that if anything should go wrong with their box or trailer or if the towing vehicle breaks down and can’t be fixed, they can call upon the experience and expertise of ERS to get them to their destination safely.”
