Holly Woodhead

21-year-old Holly Woodhead is a successful young event rider. In 2013 she won a young rider European team silver medal and in 2014 she claimed individual silver and team bronze. Holly is the youngest rider since 1989 to be selected onto the senior eventing squad after her call-up to represent Great Britain at the FEI Longines European Eventing Championship to be held at Blair Castle in September 2015, riding DHI Lupison, owned by her father Ian Woodhead and step-mother Heidi.

Notable form in 2015 so far includes first place in the CCI3*U25 at Bramham, sixth at Chatsworth CIC3* and 14th at Burnham Market in the CIC3*, all riding her European selected horse.

Holly’s father, Ian Woodhead is a trainer to many elite riders in the UK and her mother Tracy is also a prolific dressage trainer. Holly’s sister Amy represented Britain in the 2008 European Dressage Championships and is now a grand prix dressage rider and stable jockey to Carl Hester.

In 2009 Holly represented Great Britain at the pony European dressage Championships in Belgium. Here she finished finished best of the Brits, coming eighth overall.
