Global Champions TourWithout a doubt the most glamorous competition in showjumping — if not the entire equestrian sporting calendar — the Longines Global Champions Tour consists of 17 separate events, bringing together the top showjumpers in the FEI world rankings to jump off in exclusive venues in cities all round the world.

The tour begins in the Middle East before taking in the Americas, followed by five months in Europe, including a return to London (19-21 August 2022).  Other cities hosting legs of the tour in 2022 include Mexico City, New York, Madrid, Hamburg, Saint Tropez, Doha, Stockholm, Monaco, Paris, Valkenswaard, New York and Rome. The finals take place for the first time this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (20-22 October) before the tour concludes with the Prague Playoffs (19-22 November).

At each leg, individual riders will be bidding for championship honours as well as a ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix held in Prague, while teams will be hoping to top the GCL leaderboard.

The brainchild of former Olympic showjumper Jan Tops, The Longines Global Champions Tour is the world’s most lucrative five-star showjumping event. The series is a favourite among celebrity equestrian enthusiasts — rockstar Bruce Springsteen and Microsoft magnate Bill Gates have both been spotted at events, cheering along their respective showjumping offspring Jessica Springsteen and Jennifer Gates. For those who can afford it, the VIP hospitality is said to be excellent!
