Craigmanice Stud in Aberdeenshire, Scotland was founded in 1996 to produce good quality sports horses that can compete and be a pleasure to own

Craigmanice Stud is a purpose built stud yard situated on a 500 acre mixed farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The stud was started in 1996 as a hobby with the aim of producing good quality sports horses, the sort I always wanted but never seemed to find. By studying pedigrees and choosing foundation stock with correct conformation and good temperament that have competed themselves, we hope to produce a horse that can compete and be a pleasure to own.

Since March 2004 we have provided full AI facilities with fully qualified DEFRA approved staff.

We stand three stallions. They all have an exceptional temperament, correct conformation, and outstanding movement. They are kept in a stable block alongside mares and are regularly worked in company at home and at shows.

Spartan Heights

A bay 15.3hh Thoroughbred stallion by Golden Heights born 1991. He is registered with Weatherbys GSB and has been graded with Scottish Sports Horse. Spartan Heights is an outstanding stallion from the famous line of Mill Reef, Shirley Heights and Blakeney on the sires side and Spartan General on the dams. He has offspring in Scotland, Wales and Southern England. They are all competing successfully in the show ring, BSJA, dressage and driving. He also has youngstock preparing for a career in eventing.

Craigmancie Gold

A 16.1hh chesnut sports horse stallion by Ludwig H, born 1998. He is a Licenced stallion with the Scottish Sports Horse. In 2000 Craigmancie Gold went forward for stallion grading as a 2 year old with SSH. He headed the line-up with the highest mark for his jumping. The Dutch judges commented that it is very unusual to see such an exceptionally good jump and that they rarely award such a high mark. His youngstock have all been awarded first premiums at grading and all have excellent show records. They will be out under saddle in 2006.

Rotherwood Fandango

Our newest stallion arrived in July 2004. He is a bay 13hh riding pony stallion by Westacre Concerto, born 1989. He is registered PBW and licenced NPS. This very correct, well bred stallion is one of the few sons left by the famous Westacre Concerto. He stood for many years in Ireland where he produced many quality show champions. The very cream of pony bloodlines has come together in his pedigree and are now available in Scotland.
