The Arundel Equine Hospital
The Arundel Equine Hospital is one of the oldest dedicate equine practices in the country. It was founded in 1950 and is currently the only Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Approved Tier 3 equine hospital in West Sussex.
Foal Care: The Arundel Equine Hospital admit a significate number of foals into the hospital each season. These can range from foals requiring intensive care because they are septicaemic or suffering from neonatal maladjustment syndrome, to foals that need surgery to correct limb deviations.
Foaling Mares: Mares that are suffering from a dystocia can be admitted for assisted foaling. If assisted foaling fails then the mare can remain under general anaesthesia and be moved to the surgical suite for Caesarean Section.
Stallion Fertility Assessments: Semen can be collected for evaluation and full examination of the testicles and accessory sex glands can be undertaken, making use of endoscopy and ultrasonography.
Mare Fertility: Mares can be admitted for artificial insemination and embryo transfer. They can also be admitted for investigation of poor fertility making use of techniques such as hysteroscopy and ultrasonography.
