SJ Bursary winner announced


  • The Show Jumping Supporters Club of Great Britain announces the winner of its annual training bursary

    James Wingrave, a 20-year-old show jumper from Crick, Northants, has won the Show Jumping Supporters Club of Great Britain’s £1000 annual training bursary.

    A graduate of the Oakley Hunt West Pony Club, he was trained by Stuart Edmonds at Peter Robeson’s yard. James turned down a place at Holloway College to concentrate onhis show jumping career.

    James currently has one Grade A horse, Spring Master, with whom he represented Great Britain in the 2000 European Young Rider Championships. He is hoping to spend his bursary with Lars Sederholm.

    A runner up prize of£500 was awarded to Mrs Amanda Mcglynn from Edgcott, Bucks. Amanda has previously won the Ladies National championship with the mare, Barbarella. Amanda has benefited from training with Peter Robeson and the late Dick Stilwell and Caroline Bradley.

    Amanda has been accepted onto the BSJA Coaching Development Scheme and has decided to spend her bursary to further her career as a trainer.
