American-based Irish show jumper Niall Grimes has died aged 31.
He collapsed after a heart attack at the Kentucky National Horse Show in Lexington, USA on 28 September.
Although doctors revived him twice, he died on 3 October with his family at his side.
President of the Equestrian Federation of Ireland Charles Powell described Mr Grimes as a highly respected horseman.
His body was been brought home for a traditional evening mass on 11 October and morning burial in Ireland.
