Scott Brash to jump as individual in Madrid


  • Team GB showjumping team manager Rob Hoekstra has announced the British quartet to contest the team competition at the FEI European Showjumping Championships (13-18 September) in Madrid.

    The team is:

  • Ben Maher (Tripple X III)
  • Nick Skelton (Carlo)
  • John Whitaker (Peppermill)
  • Guy Williams (Titus II)

    Scott Brash will ride Intertoy Z as an individual.

    All horses passed the vet’s inspection and Rob Hoekstra said: “We are in scorching heat here of 35 degrees which will be testing for both horse and rider.

    “The team are in great spirits and good health though; all are hoping to secure a win for Great Britain and looking forward to the challenge ahead”.

    Irish team manager Robert Splaine has also announced the Irish team:

  • Shane Sweetnam (Amaretto Darco)
  • Nicola FitzGibbon (Puissance)
  • Denis Lynch (Lantinus)
  • Billy Twomey (Tinka’s Serenade)
