Ronnie Massarella retires


  • British show jumping team’s chef d’equipe Ronnie Massarella has announced that he will be retiring from this role after the Nations Cup final in Rome later this month.

    The Italian-born Yorkshireman became a permanent chef d’equipe in 1970 and has presided over eight Olympic teams.

    Another show jumping veteran, course-designer and five-times national champion Alan Oliver, has also retired after an involvement with the sport which scanned more than 60 years.
