Pessoa family on form in Spain

  • Pessoa husband and wife keep it in the family by claiming the first two grands prix on the Spanish Sunshine Tour

Show jumping’s World Champion Rodrigo Pessoa (pictured) and his American-born wife Kerri dominated the grands prix at the opening show of this year’s Spanish Sunshine Tour.

Kerri won the small grand prix on Fadiese before riding Green Pearl to a 0.4sec victory over her husband and the Irish-bred Gandini Stardust in the main class.

The huge British contingent at the show enjoyed good victories in the earlier classes, but was out of luck in the grands prix.

Robert Whitaker was the highest-placed Briton in the small grand prix, finishing 19th on Leidy, while both Geoff Glazzard (Stable Express Barry Bug) and Duncan Inglis (Miss Sante) made the grand prix jump-off.

  • Rodrigo Pessoa rode Gandini Stardust to victory in the grand prix at the second show jumping show of the SpanishSunshine Tour. Veronique Whitaker was best of the Britons in third place on Eldorado.
