Fuchs remains world No.1


  • Swiss rider Markus Fuchs is in a strong position at the top of the FEI Gandini World Jumping Riders Rankings with 3375 points, ahead of three German riders.

    Ludger Beerbaum is in second place with 2868 pts and Marcus Ehning in third (2484 pts). Otto Becker has moved up to fourth, exchanging place with Belgian rider Jos Lansink.

    A strong performance by Brazilian rider Rodrigo Pesso during the past month sees him grabs sixth spot. Lars Nieburg is the fourth German rider in the top 10 and has moved up one place to seventh, while America’s Beezie Madden-Patton is eighth

    Young Swedish rider Malin Baryard is in great form and leaps up four places to take the final place in the top 10 with 1458 pts.

    British riders

    Robert Smith remains the only British rider inside the top 10 by maintaining his ninth position in the world rankings.

    Michael Whitaker, currently 17th, is Britain’s other rider in the world’s top 20, although his brother, John, has moved up to 38th.

    Also making an upward move is Nick Skelton, who is again in the world’s top 50 after rising 14 places to 45th.

    Andrew Davies lies 62nd, while the other Britons in the world’s top 100 are William Funnell (67th); Robert Whitaker (71st); Tim Stockdale (74th) and Richard Davenport, who has risen to 82nd.
