Canada has announced the long-list of candidates in consideration for the Canadian Show Jumping Team at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

In alphabetical order, the riders and horses are:

  • John Anderson and Terrific
  • Yann Candele and Pitareusa
  • Mac Cone and Ole
  • Jill Henselwood and Special Ed/Bottom Line
  • Eric Lamaze and Hickstead/Ronaldo
  • Ian Millar and In Style/Star Power
  • Jonathon Millar and Contino 14
  • John Pearce and Son of a Gun/Chianto
  • Keean White and Celena Z/Bethsabee

The final five athletes who will form the Canadian showjumping team will be named by the Jump Canada High Performance Committee by 29 September, 2010.

“We face challenges due to the injuries of some of our top horses, but we have a strong rider base,” said Terrance Millar, chef d’équipe of the showjumping team. “I am confident that we will put together five horse and rider combinations that will be competitive.”

“Given Hickstead’s current form, Eric Lamaze has to be considered as one of the front runners to become the 2010 World Champion,” added Millar.
