Best ever result: winning at HOYS for the third year running in 2011

    Five things you didn’t know…

1 His owners also own racehorses, who are trained by John Quinn in Malton.

2 Hallmark’s sire Welcome Flagmount showjumped to grade A and represented Ireland. He was killed in an accident when a wall fell on him while being plaited at home. He saved the groom’s life, but later collapsed and died.

3 Hallmark always goes to local trainer John Holt’s gallops for a “blow-out” before a big competition.

4 He competed at Dublin Show as a youngster and the judges overlooked him – he finished well down the line. Luckily, Rosemary Hetherington talent-spotted him and he went on to win at HOYS the following year with Jack Cochrane.

5 He has won more than £7,000 in prize-money so far – and he’s only rising eight, so has plenty more to offer yet!
