Racing world says a fond farewell to Joes Edge

  • Joes Edge, winner of the 2005 Scottish Grand National at Ayr has been retired.

    The 11-year-old, trained by Ferdy Murphy, also won the 2007 William Hill Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival.

    After winning nearly £20,000 in prize money throughout his racing career connections wanted to retire him while he was ahead.

    Joes Edge will now spend his retirement with owner Chris Massey as a hack.
