    Plans for a horse park at Newmarket have been withdrawn to allow time to overcome the racing and bloodstock industry’s objections to non-thoroughbred interests developing in the town (news, 26 February).

    Stetchworth Equine may re-submit a modified application to East Cambridgeshire District Council, but director Larry Leggatt said: “Frankly we are disappointed that some local stakeholders feel unable to support the need for greater job diversity in Newmarket.”
