  • He provided Frankie Dettori with the highlight of his career when winning the Derby at Epsom last weekend and now Authorized has been snapped up by one of the world’s leading breeding operations.

The son of top sire Montjeu has been purchased by Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley Stud for an undisclosed sum following his emphatic five-length victory in the world’s premier Classic.

A statement on www.darleystallions.com read: “Authorized has been bought as a future stallion.

“He has been leased back to the current owners, Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, and will continue to be trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam.”

The colt, who has won three of his four career starts, will still contest the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on 7 July, a race for which he is the hot favourite.
