  • Anyone with the name Kate, Catherine or Will can enjoy some racing free of charge at the Spring Meeting at Epsom Downs racecourse this April — in honour of the Royal Wedding.

To gain free entry on Wednesday 20 April all Kates, Catherines and Williams must produce a passport or photo driver’s licence on entry.

Racing on the day will include the Investec Derby trial which sets a benchmark for the Investec Derby on Saturday 4 June.

“This is a special day for us as we launch the 2011 racing season and build up to the Investec Derby Festival, as the Royal Wedding is for the nation,” said Rupert Trevelyan, managing director of Epsom Downs racecourse.

“There will be plenty of entertainment for all the family on and off the course and we look forward to welcoming anyone with the Christian names; William, Catherine or Kate for free.”
