  • A new gel fly repellent for horses has been launched by Equimins, designed to be long-lasting and easy to apply.

The Fly Repellent Gel 3535 contains active ingredients to repel flies as well as midges and mosquitoes.

“This product was on trial during 2012 and proved to be very efficacious, especially compared with other products based on Deet,” said David Willey of Equimins.

“While the tests found that the product was more effective, it also lasted longer.”

The gel should be applied sparingly in the direction of the coat with a cloth or sponge.

It is available in 500g tubs and costs £14.65.
