Doping experts to educate horse industry at FEI ‘bute’ congress

  • Experts in the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are to educate the global horse industry on how drugs such as bute effect equine performance.

Dr Wayne McIlwraith from the USA, Professor Pierre-Louis Toulain (France) and Prof Ken Hinchcliffe (Australia), will speak at a two-day, open to all congress in Switzerland organised by the FEI.

The congress is part of the FEI’s six-month “education and information campaign” to allow national federations to make an informed decision on whether NSAIDs should be used in competition, at the FEI general assembly in November.
