Congratulations to Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall as Buckingham Palace confirm that the Queen's granddaughter is pregnant
Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall are expecting their first child.
Buckingham Palace announced the news this morning, saying: “Mr and Mrs Mike Tindall are very pleased to announce that Zara Tindall is expecting a baby in the new year.”
It continued: “The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall, and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“This baby will be the first child for Mike and Zara and the third grandchild for the Princess Royal.”
Zara is continuing to ride and compete at a high level during her pregnancy. She competed two horses at Barbury International Eventing and Show at the weekend, finishing fourth in the open novice on CG Master Lux, but falling on Mr Murt in the CIC**.
Congratulatory messages for the pair have been flooding in. Mike Tindall tweeted in response:
