Wanted: your Royal Windsor Horse Show footage

  • Home videos of Royal Windsor Horse Show are being sought by the makers of an ITV1 documentary to mark the show’s 70th anniversary.

The programme, to be broadcast on ITV1 at 9pm on 18 June, follows the organising team as they prepare for the show and will feature unseen past footage.

Complimentary tickets to the show (8-12 May) will be given to those who can help.

Adrian Sibley, from the TV production company Spun Gold, which also made Jennifer Saunders: Back in the Saddle, said: “We are looking for personal videos of the Royal Windsor Horse Show from its inception in 1943 to the present day.

“It would be great to see any home films of The Queen and her family, as she has attended every show,” he added.

The programme will also feature the volunteers and local people involved with the show, from the team who provide all the flowers to the Mayor of Windsor.

Jo Peck of Royal Windsor organisers H-Power said she hoped the documentary would “tell the show’s story”.

“It’s exciting for all of us involved in the show — we’re all going the extra mile.”
