Lantra and VETNET are urging anyone working with animals in the south-west to assist with their research into the industry’s views on apprenticeships.
Lantra, the sector skills council supporting people working in animal-related injuries, and VETNET, a national network of veterinary education establishments, launched a programme on 1 February to investigate what support there is for apprenticeships and their relationship with higher education.
They are appealing to the south-west’s animal workers, including those employed in welfare centres, veterinary nursing, farriery and equestrian centres.
Lisa Jarvis, Lantra’s manager for animal industries, said: “There has been little research into apprenticeships in the animal-related industries. Although only focused in the south-west, this research is the first step to find out why people choose, or don’t choose to support apprenticeships.”
