Tim Stockdale reveals his ‘Jumping Dreams’ in new book

  • Showjumping fans have a treat in store this summer when the third book in publisher LewisHarding’s series, Jumping Dreams, is published.

British showjumper Tim Stockdale is hard at work compiling the book, which comes out in June.

Jumping Dreams follows on from the previously published titles Dressage Dreams and Reining Dreams.

It will take an in-depth look into the world of showjumping, with images of and interviews with the best-known names in the sport.

Tim was out of the saddle for four months after breaking his neck in a fall from a young horse he was trying.

He told H&H the unexpected time off has allowed him to get stuck in to the project.

“I have identified riders and horses that I think are iconic in the sport,” said Tim, “and names, like Kevin Staut, who are newer but will be in the high echelons of the sport for the next 10 years or more.”

Icons featured include Canadian rider Eric Lamaze’s great partner Hickstead who died last year.

Tim said: “He was a gritty little horse but was overlooked by a number of riders who didn’t think he had the scope.

“He and Eric complemented each other very well and proved them all wrong.”

Series editor Valerie Lewis said: “We’re delighted that Tim will be writing Jumping Dreams, as his expertise and enthusiasm for the sport is second to none.

“Tim’s knowledge, combined with striking equestrian images, will make this a must-buy for jumping enthusiasts.”
