This Sunday’s Berkeley open team chase at New Park Farm, Hystfield, has been upgraded to a Humberts’ national qualifier.

It will be the first qualifier to run this autumn after four events were postponed or cancelled due to foot-and-mouth.

Organiser Reg Hopkins said: “Landowners Colin Pierce and John Troughton decided we’d run and everybody in the area is happy. We’ll have disinfectant mats and vehicles will be sprayed.

“The ground and fences look good and we’re expecting a big turnout — I’ve had calls from across the country, from Essex to Cornwall.”
