Stolen tack seized

  • Police in Sussex are trying to trace the owners of unusual stolen tack that they seized in a raid at Broadbridge Heath in Sussex just before christmas.

Items include two Western saddles, an Australian stock saddle (similar to the one pictured) and two new Hamilton Balance saddles.

In total eight saddles were found alongwith 10 Ifor Williams trailers, two HGV lorries and two containers filled with gardening and horticultural equipment.

Police have managed to trace all the owners of the trailers and lorries but despite scanning the saddles they have been unable to locate their rightful owners.

A full list of the items seized can be found on the Sussex Horsewatch website click here to visit their website.

WPC Suzanne Fowler said: “The saddlery itemsare quite unusual and distinctive but unfortunately they were not marked so we have been unable to trace their owners.”

“By launching this appeal we are hopeful of reuiniting them with their owners – but we strongly recommend that tack is either tagged, marked with a UV pen or branded with your postcode.”
