    • Eventer and H&H blogger Lauren Shannon is now sponsored by Equitimo Horseboxes.A keen Tweeter, Lauren was bemoaning the state of her old lorry when the Somerset company decided to come to her aid and offer her a heavily subsidised £250,000 lorry.

      Shane Nelson, of Equitimo, said: “We are currently waiting for a chassis for Lauren’s box, then we are going to build her a 26tonne 12m five-horse lorry with full living and a slide out.

      “We read her comments on Twitter and thought she would be a perfect ambassador for our brand.”

      Shannon said: “Shane and Victoria, who run Equitimo, are absolutely lovely and a pleasure to deal with and I cannot wait to start building a lorry with them.”

      The company also has a similar deal with showjumper Anna Edwards.

      Anna’s box, a former Hertfordshire Fire Service engine, is being fitted out as an 18tonne, six-horse box.

    • Rolex has become an official partner of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014.The agreement was signed on 13 December.

      The Swiss luxury watchmaker has been involved in equestrian sport since 1957 and is a major force behind many of the sport’s finest events and riders.

      FEI secretary-general Ingmar De Vos welcomed the news of the Rolex partnership with Normandy 2014.

      “The FEI is delighted that Rolex, one of the world’s best brands and a dedicated partner to equestrian sport, has renewed its cooperation with the FEI’s flagship event, the FEI World Equestrian Games,” he said.

      “Rolex’s loyalty to our sport is exceptional and we are looking forward to the Games in Normandy, which are expected to stage absolutely top-class sport in an area renowned for its connection with the horse.”
