Animal nutrition and health company Alltech has stumped up €10m to be title sponsor of the 2014 FEI (International Equestrian Federation) World Equestrian Games (WEG).
“Alltech is proud to continue our partnership with the WEG,” said Alltech president and founder, Dr Pearse Lyons.
“These world championships of equestrian sport epitomise the values that we applaud; passion, excellence and performance.”
And FEI secretary-general Ingmar de Vos said: “The FEI is delighted by the renewal of Alltech’s title sponsorship of the FEI’s flagship event, the WEG.”
Alltech’s commitment to supporting national and international equestrian sports began in 2006, when it became the first-ever title sponsor of the WEG.
The 2014 WEG, the seventh, will be held in Normandy (17-31 August 2014).
- In other sponsorship news, grand prix dressage rider Hannah Biggs has joined the Anky Technical Casuals team of sponsored riders.The company already sponsors Sharon Hunt, Adelinde Cornelissen, Patrik Kittel and the designer of the range, Anky Van Grunsven.
“Hannah is a hard working talented young rider with an exciting future ahead of her, we are very pleased to be sponsoring her,” said Marisa Gordon of Rimar Marketing, the brand distributors in the UK.
This new sponsorship deal comes as Hannah takes the ride on Tantoni Sir Soccrates, the 4-year-old British Warmblood Society (BWBS) champion stallion.

Hunter Boots Ltd gave its backing to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution’s (RABI) welly hunt at The CLA Game Fair last week.The company provided four pairs of Hunter boots as prizes for the winners of the welly hunt for young visitors to the fair at Blenheim Palace, (22-24 July).
Champion National Hunt trainer Paul Nicholls is to sponsor a new class at Frome Show (10 September) this year.
The Ditcheat-based trainer, who has top horses Kauto Star, Big Buck’s and Denman in training at his Manor Farm Stables, has put his name to the Thoroughbred and Retired Racehorse Association class which will act as a qualifier for the association’s ridden championship at Peterborough in August next year.
Joint chairman of the show’s horse section Pam Norris said that Mr Nicholls’ sponsorship was a great boost to the show.
