One of the latest recruits for the new series of BBC1’s “The Apprentice” is a showjumping enthusiast who competed at the 1998 Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at Wembley as a child.
Twenty-five-year-old Jenna Whittingham from Lathom in Lancashire now owns a beauty salon and showjumps in her spare time.
She is currently riding her six-year-old gelding Bouchard (Prince) who she broke with the help of her mother and showjumper Nicola Bampton.
“Because Jenna has been so busy, Nicola has been competing Prince,” said Jenna’s father Alan Whittingham.
Jenna is not allowed to talk about the new series of The Apprentice – which starts next Wednesday (21 March) at 9pm on BBC1 – but told H&H that she hopes to find time to continue riding.
Jenna competed in the pony newcomers final at HOYS when she was 12. But she fell off her 14.2hh pony Local Lad during the class.
The Apprentice is a reality TV series in which a group of aspiring young businessmen and women compete to win a job with British business tycoon Lord Sugar.
