Seasonal treat for Scottish horselovers


  • Christmas shopping and expert advice for horselovers all under one roof at the Scottish Equine Fair this weekend

    The final equine fair of 2001 will take place this weekend (8-9 December) at the Royal Highland Showground, Edinburgh.

    The latest in the Contour Exhibitions & Events’ successful series of equine fairs, the Scottish Equine Fair will entertain and inform equestrian enthusiasts of all ages with demonstrations and talks throughout the two-day event.

    The equine arena will host a range of displays including

    • Parelli Natural Horsemanship
    • British Show Pony Society – Scottish Branch
    • Amanda Saville’s Chariots of Fire
    • Scottish Icelandic Horse Association
    • Scottish Equestrian Vaulting Team
    • Scottish Endurance Riding
    • Welsh Pony & Cob Society
    • Scottish Native Breeds

    In the equine lecture theatre, visitors will find up-to-date advice on subjects including bitting, laminitis, hoof care, and grass sickness. There is also plenty of opportunity to do Christmas shopping for horsey friends and family from the tradestands.

    Tickets cost £7 for adults or £5 for children under 16 and OAPs. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £22. Under 5’s go free.
