Scott Brash’s new ride to make international debut at Olympia

  • Scott Brash will make his international debut on new ride Hello Guv’nor at Olympia next week (18-22 December).

The nine-year-old gelding (Diamant De Semilly x Papillon Rouge) has been produced in Ireland by Hayley Dunne and, under his previous name Flinstone De Tiji, jumped on European young riders teams, finished third in a grand prix in Arezzo last year and was most recently seen with his Irish rider at the CSI3* at Millstreet in August.

Now renamed Hello Guv’nor by his new owners Lord and Lady Harris and Lord and Lady Kirkham, the Belgium warmblood has joined Scott’s string and the new combination will make their international debut in the Grand Hall, Olympia.

“Hayley got in touch with me and I went and tried the horse and liked him a lot,” Scott told H&H.

“He’s done quite a bit with her but not really jumped indoors so we’ll take him to Olympia and have a play about and see how it goes.”

Hello Guv’nor will be joined at Olympia by two of the world number one’s talented up-and-coming eight year-olds Hello Sunshine and Hello M’Lady or the 10-year-old Hello Annie.

“Olympia is a good show to get the younger ones going,” said Scott. (contined…)

Lord Harris, who co-owns all of Scott’s top horses including Hello Sanctos, added: “We’re still trying to build up our team. Hello Guv’nor is a very, very good horse — we’ll give him a bit of time.

“He’s not very big but he really jumps and when you see him you’d think he’s more experienced than he is, but then Scott is such a calm, collected rider. It’s very exciting.”
