British equestrian fans hoping to support Team GB at Rio 2016 (5-21 August) can now put their names forward for tickets for the Games.
The British Olympic Association (BOA) has approved CoSport as the authorised ticket reseller in Great Britain and Northern Ireland and there will be two opportunities to purchase tickets from its website.
There will be an initial request phase for individual tickets closing on Monday (4 May) and a live sale where tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting on 19 May.
“For our athletes and fans alike, there are few experiences more exhilarating than being part of competition on the world stage,” said BOA chief executive Bill Sweeney.
“Together with CoSport, we are excited to extend an invitation to Team GB fans from around the world to once again share in the Olympic journey and experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the Rio 2016 Olympics.”
To secure tickets in the initial request stage, British residents must submit a non-binding request at www.cosport.co.uk by 2pm on Monday, 4 May. All ticket requests will be considered irrespective of when they were submitted.
By 11 May, CoSport will confirm which of the requested tickets will be offered for purchase. Payment for confirmed tickets that are wanted must be received by no later than 2pm on 15 May, 2015.
There will be a second opportunity to buy tickets on the CoSport website from 10am on 19 May 2015.
Hotel and ticket packages will soon be on offer in addition to individual tickets. These packages include three or four-star accommodation, daily breakfast and support from the CoSport team and local hosts.
“Our hotel and ticket packages simplify attending Rio 2016 so our guests can focus on enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Robert F. Long, president of CoSport.
“There will be plenty of opportunities to choose from once sales open, but the best packages will surely go fast.”
