Pony Club polo at its best


  • Heythrop triumphs in Daily Telegraph Trophy, while Hampshire Hunt A team claims Jorrocks I Championship

    The Heythrop team landed the prestigious Hackett Pony Club Polo Championships in the Gannon Division I final at Cowdray Park, Sussex. The team claimed The Daily Telegraph Trophy following strong and determined play against the Pytchley, winning six goals to four.

    The Beaufort triumphed over the Cottesmore in Gannon Division II to lift the Jaguar Trophy. They also played a very good match to win the Langford Division and Lt Col WSP Lithgow Trophy.

    Cowdray won the Langford League and Martin Trotter Trophy from the Beaufort, Ashford Valley won the Rendell Division andFrank Rendell Cup from the Berkeley, and the RA landed both the Loriner Division I from the Cotswold and the Loriner League from the Tiverton.

    The Hampshire Hunt triumphed in the Loriner Division II, with the Cotswold claiming both division I of the Handley Cross (under-14) from the Old Berkeley (3-1) and division II from the Bicester.

    Hampshire Hunt had a successful week with its A team triumphing in the Jorrocks under 12s championships, held at Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Ewhurst, Surrey. HHA won the Jorrocks I Championships and the Gilks Cup, from Cowdray Park in a 2-0 match.

    Berkely claimed the Jorrocks 2 Championship, with the Cottesmore Kittens winning Jorrocks 3.
