Polocrosse World Cup to be broadcast on Sky and H&C TV

  • The final stages of the 2011 Polocrosse World Cup will be broadcast on Sky Sports and H&C TV after the organisers announced a deal to film and broadcast matches from the competition series.

The Polocrosse World Cup takes place at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre in Warwickshire (8-17 July).

Sky aims to premiere matches in early September and Horse & Country TV, will broadcast extra coverage from the World Cup on Sky 280.

The competition series will be filmed by the production company Playback Sports, the company that will bring British Eventing competitions to Sky this year.

Joe Metcalfe, Playback Sports said, “We are really excited to be covering the World Polocrosse Championships this year. It’s a great opportunity to highlight what an exhilarating sport Polocrosse is”.

The UK PoloCrosse Association’s Iain Heaton said: “The World Cup is the biggest and best competition of them all, so the polocrosse will be absolutely top class and having TV cameras there will just add to the occasion.

“Obviously it will be best to come and watch the competition live in July but if people can’t make it then it is great that they will have a chance to see the highlights on TV at a later date.”

The competition will also be put onto DVD so that fans can also buy all the action to watch over and over again.

These will be available to buy from www.polocrosse2011.com and at the event itself.

Tickets for the World Cup start at just £4 and there are special deals for the Pony Club, riding clubs and riding centres.
