Para driving comes to Sandringham

  • The Queen’s Sandringham Estate will host the FEI World Para Equestrian Driving Championships on the 26-29 June.

8 nations — Britain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Hungary and Italy — will compete in the 3-day event, which features dressage, cross-country and cone-driving.

The British team of 3 will consist of Mick Ward (Toby), Deborah Daniel (Valeside Galaxy) and Lindsey Tyas Paice (Trixie’s Silver Spirit owned by Lady Iveagh).

Individuals will be Lucy Barclay (first team reserve), Sue Johnson, Judi Ralls, Margaret Lupton and Sarah Baverstock. As host nation, Britain can enter 5 individuals as well as the team.

This will be the first time driving World Championships have taken place in England, although they were held at Hopetoun in Scotland in 2004.

    Entry is free. Visit: www.britishcarriagedriving.co.uk
