A teenager who took up para dressage after an eventing fall left her with serious head injuries made a winning international debut last weekend.
Kate Hunter, 18, won her freestyle class with Pro Mo on Sunday (21 July) at the Bishop Burton para international — the same venue where she fell in a BE90 class four years ago.
“It was incredibly emotional,” said Kate’s mother Sue. “I don’t really know where she gets the strength from.”
Kate, a grade III rider, described the experience as “amazing”.
She added: “My ultimate goal is to ride in a Paralympics.”
