New venue for BHS hunter trial final

  • This week’s Kawasaki BHS Hunter Trial Championships has a new venue due to FMD restrictions

The Kawasaki BHS Hunter Trial Championships has been forced to move to a new venue due to FMD restrictions at Offchurch Bury Estate. The event will now take place at New Farm, at Compton near Newbury, Berkshire on Sunday 9 September.

Riders competing at the final have been placed in novice, pairs or open classes at the 10 qualifying events which have been held around the country.

Rob Jones, head of BHS competitions, said: “The season got off to a slow start due to FMD but the competitions that went ahead have been a great success and very popular with our grass-roots members.

“We are grateful to Kawasaki for supporting us through this difficult time and hope they will continue their sponsorship into the 2002 season.”

Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each class and a prize will be given to the highest placed registered Mountain and Moorland in each section. Rosettes will be given to 20th place as well as to all clear rounds and there are Kawasaki “goody bags” for all competitors.

The day, which starts at 9am, is likely to be an enjoyable day out for competitors and spectators.
