A new sunscreen specifically for horses has been launched by Solarsport.
Solarsport Equine 30 Superior is designed to protect the sensitive muzzle area that is susceptible to burning, particularly on horses with white facemarkings.
The cream is non-greasy and absorbs instantly into the horses’ skin. It offers up to seven hours of full block protection and is water-resistant. The sunscreen is hypoallergenic and comes in an easy to apply tube with a soft applicator pad.
“While most sunblock products are reflective based screens — containing metal oxides — they must be plastered onto the skin and left thick like ‘icing’ to be totally effective,” said a spokesman for the company, which also produces human sunscreen.
“But Solarsport Equine 30 Superior instantly absorbs yet still offers the full block protection allowing the horse to forage and graze and not wipe the protection off.”
