Mark Todd will be final Olympic eventer to start at Greenwich


  • The British public will have to wait until 4.28pm on Sunday (29 July) to see whether Mark Todd can give himself the chance of a third individual Olympic gold medal.

    The New Zealander is last of the 74 competitors to go into the dressage arena, riding Campino.

    First to go on Saturday (28 July) is America’s Boyd Martin on Otis Barbotiere at 10am.

    The British team, drawn 17th, start with Nicola Wilson and Opposition Buzz at 11.20am on Saturday. Mary King and Imperial Cavalier also do their test on Saturday, at 2.30pm.

    The other three Brits are on Sunday; Zara Phillips at 10.16am on High Kingdom, Tina Cook at 12.54pm on Miners Frolic and finally William Fox-Pitt at 4.12pm on Lionheart.

    Times of other popular combinations include Caroline Powell and Lenamore at 10.32am on Sunday morning; Andrew Nicholson and Nereo at 1.10pm on Sunday; reigning world and European champions Michael Jung and Sam at 3.02pm on Sunday – they are last to go of the German team; fellow Germans Ingrid Klimke and Butts Abraxxas at 3.56pm on Saturday and former Badminton winners Nicolas Touzaint and Hildago De L’Ile, last to go for the French, at 2.54pm on Sunday.

    The Irish team, drawn fifth, are as follows: Michael Ryan (Ballylynch Adventure) 10.32pm on Saturday; Aoife Clark (Master Crusoe) 12.54pm on Saturday; Joseph Murphy (Electric Cruise) 4.04pm on Saturday; Camilla Speirs (Portersize Just A Jiff) 11.52am on Sunday; Mark Kyle (Coolio) 3.10pm on Sunday.
