The horse that played Shadowfax in the Lord of the Rings films has been put down after a long illness.
Cynthia Royal, the horse’s owner, announced the news of his death to his many fans on 6 April on the website, TheOneRing.net
She said that Blanco, fell critically ill and tests carried out, which showed serious problems with his intestinal tract and liver.
Fans paying tribute to Blanco, said on their website, said: “‘his beauty will always live on in the Lord of the Rings movies.”
