Laura Collett is out of intensive care

  • Event rider Laura Collett is awake and out of intensive care after suffering serious injuries in a rotational fall last week.

Laura and 7-year-old mare Tis A Beauty fell at fence 18 at Tweseldown last Monday (8 July). Laura was placed in an induced coma to help heal damage to her lungs.

Last week (Friday 12 July) 23-year-old Laura’s brains scans came back clear and this weekend she was brought out of sedation and was able to see her friends and family.

“Laura is now out of intensive care and is making very good progress,” British eventing team manager Yogi Breisner told H&H today (Monday 15 July).

“She is in very good spirits and is already planning her return to riding.”

Yesterday (Sunday 14 July) she said she was “Feeling so much better”.

And today she tweeted: “I have been for a walk down the corridor! My face is covered in some beautiful bruises, but all in all I’m good.”
