Household Cavalry launches Fashion for the Brave campaign

  • “Three supermodels, one horse and a lot of gawping soldiers” is how one officer described the launch of the Fashion for the Brave campaign at the Household Cavalry’s Hyde Park barracks.

The initiative – launched on Sunday (11 March) – will culminate in a fashion show at the Dorchester Hotel on 20 September.

It will raise funds for the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund, which provides financial support to injured soldiers and their families, and the British Forces Foundation, which aims to boost the morale of servicemen and women on the frontline through high quality entertainment.

Supermodels Jade Parfitt and Jasmine Guinness posed on Sunday with the members of the Queen’s Life Guard and George, a regimental charger and lie-down horse for The Queen’s musical ride.

Caroline Rush from the British Fashion Council, which is supporting the event, said: “[Fashion for the Brave] is a wonderful way of celebrating, supporting and thanking our soldiers for their bravery and dedication.

“The event will feature absolutely the best of British fashion – from heritage brands to our most contemporary young designers.”

This will be the second time the event has run following its success in 2010.
